Library quiz night
The Friends of the Mission Library present their annual Quiz Night tonight at 7 p.m. at the Mission Library, 33247 Second Ave. Enlist your spouses, friends and neighbours for the challenge between 10 teams. Hominum meets

Festival of Lights
A community celebration of Diwali, the South Asian festival of light, is taking place tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Rick Hansen Secondary School, 31150 Blueridge Dr., Abbotsford. The entire family can joy lively entertainment, music, dance, food and refreshments. There will be a fashion show and sari and turban wrapping demos and children can practise some arts and crafts. A celebration of the South Asian festival of light is taking place Wednesday, Nov. 3 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Mission Clarke Theatre, 33700 Prentis Ave. The whole family can enjoy Diwali through mehndi, arts and crafts, bhangra dances and delicious Indian food. Poultry extravaganza
The Fraser Valley Poultry Fanciers Association presents its 2010 Winter Show: The Lloyd Miller Memorial Show on Oct. 30 and 31st at Abbotsford Ag-Rec Centre, 32470 Haida Dr. There will be many varieties of poultry, raffles and prizes. The Clayburn Village Community Association of Abbotsford holds a pumpkin carving contest in Clayburn Park tomorrow, from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Entry fee is $2. Monies raised go to the accessible lift at the Clayburn Village School, now used as a community centre.
Halloween dance

Abbotsford Red Cross medical equipment loan depot seeks volunteers to sanitize the equipment being returned from clients. The hours are 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday to Saturday.
