Cons, voters better not forget election

Editor, the Times:

So, this last while I have been wondering, since we live in a Conservative Party "stronghold," when will the hypocrisy of conservative voters end?

Mr. Harper promised open and transparent government, with great respect for democracy.

Well, here we are a couple years into their majority, and it leaves me to wonder when this type of governing will begin and why aren't those voters speaking up?

Robocalls, the F-35 [jet] debacle, omnibus bills, cuts to veterans affairs, and as of late, secret deals with China signed in Vladivostok, Russia not even presented to Parliament. It's like something out of a Tom Clancy novel.

And now, new ads to "promote jobs," which are really ads promoting the Northern Gateway pipeline, paid for with your tax dollars.

The oil companies aren't getting enough in subsidies to pay for their own ads?

This government clearly does not respect democracy, or the Canadians they are supposed to represent.

The more secret and reclusive this government becomes, the more transparent they are. I love my country and I can't wait for 2014. Take notes folks, and remember them at the ballot box!
