Abbotsford Police are investigating the death of a 40-year-old pedestrian after he reportedly fell into the roadway and was struck by a truck on Riverside Road south of Vye. The intersection will be closed into the afternoon as officers investigate.

A man is dead after he was struck by a truck in an industrial area in south Abbotsford early Wednesday morning.
The pedestrian was killed at 6:40 a.m. in the 700 block of Riverside Road just south of Vye Road, said Const. Ian MacDonald.
The driver of a Kenworth commercial truck was headed south on Riverside when the pedestrian suddenly fell onto the street into the path of the vehicle, said MacDonald.
"He was on the side of the road and then he appeared to fall in front of the truck," he said.
The driver, who remained on scene and has been cooperative with police, is badly shaken up, said MacDonald.
"He's on the verge of shock. It was extremely harrowing."
The intersection will be closed well into the afternoon and there will be traffic diversions in the area as the police investigation takes place, said MacDonald.
Police haven't determined the identity of the crash victim as yet.
