Reach in for Culture Days

Join Canada in celebrating culture in all its glory, at the Culture Days events at The Reach Gallery & Museum in Abbotsford this weekend, from Sept. 28 to Sept. 30.

The Reach has six activities planned for the three days, all free to the public, said Karina Chow, the gallery's director of development.

"It's a fun celebration of culture across Canada, and this year at The Reach, we've gone hog wild," she said.

The events revolve around exhibits opening tonight at the gallery and museum.

Culture Days itself officially begins Friday at 11 a.m. with a workshop by Edmonton artist Amy Loewan on the origins of her pieces Illuminating Peace and Pillars of Peace. The workshop is repeated on Saturday and Sunday.

The Reach Gallery and Museum is at 32388 Veterans Way, Abbotsford. Call 604-864-8087 or see www. thereach.ca. To learn more, visit www.culturedays.ca or call 604-864-8087. Also, see Ken Herar's column on page A8.
