One of the greatest Montreal Canadiens to ever lace up a pair of skates is appearing at Pastime Sports & Games this Sunday, Feb. 10.

Guy Lafleur will be appearing at the Langley City store, 20378 Fraser Hwy., to sign autographs from 1-3 p.m.

The Hockey Hall of Fame member's career with the Montreal Canadiens ended with 961 games played, 518 goals, and 728 assists. His 1,246 points is a team record. In 1976/77 and 1977/78, Lafleur won back-to-back Hart Trophy awards as the NHL's most valuable player.

In 1976/77, Lafleur also won the Conn Smythe trophy, awarded to the most valuable player for his team in the playoffs.

Ticket prices for the signing event are:

. flats $25 (8x10 photos, cards, pucks etc.)

. large $40 (16x20, Mcfarlanes, etc.)

. premium $60 (jerseys, numbers, Stanley Cup replicas, equipment).

If you purchase any of these items from Pastime's Langley or Surrey locations up to Feb.

Partial proceeds will go to Men of Hope, which supports survivors of sexual abuse.

In connection with Men of Hope and to raise awareness and funds to help those who have suffered sexual abuse, a charity poker tournament is being held April 6 at the Royal Canadian Legion in Aldergrove.

The tournament organizer, sexual abuse survivor Andy Bhatti was profiled in the Jan. 31 Langley Advance [Out of shadows of abuse, emerges hope].

Funds raised from the poker benefit will go to the BC Society for Male Survivors of Sexual Abuse.

BCSMSSA is a Canadian registered charity that provide victim services, and individual and group therapy for boys and men who have been victims of sexual violence at any point in their lives.

Any businesses interested in sponsoring the tournament can call Bhatti at 604-3091573.
