The Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce annual Business Excellence Awards will be held on Nov. 21 at Tradex.

According to Business Excellence committee chairman Rick Rake, "Not only will we be recognizing the top businesses in each of 11 categories but we have the added attraction of two times world champion magician Shaun Farquhar."

Farquhar has entertained internationally and you may have seen him when he stumped illusionists Penn and Teller on national television".

Nominees will be introduced and featured in each category before that suspenseful moment when the envelope is opened and the recipient is revealed.

"I am always impressed by the quality of the nominees and this year we have over 90 businesses, individuals and organizations represented," said Rake. "I know the judges this year found the competition to be very close".

The evening starts with a champagne and wine reception at 5: 30 p.m. with dinner at 6: 30 and the award presentations to follow.

As always, the awards portion of the evening starts with a performance by the Chamber's own ensemble of dancers - Business in Black.

After the first series of awards are handed out, Farquhar will take over the stage to entertain.

The evening will conclude with the presentation of the awards for new business and established businesses of the year.
