The Abbotsford Downtown Business Association is revving up for its seventh annual Historic Downtown Abbotsford Car Show Sept. 15 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The free community event features automotive beauties lining the streets on the north end of downtown, the Abbotsford Farm & Country Market, a barbecue hosted by Trinity Memorial United Church women, a community stage and a 'poker walk,' said Bob King, president of the historic Downtown Abbotsford Car Show Society.
Drive One 4 UR Community and Magnuson Ford will make a donation to Matthew's House.
The event is the last chance to buy $10 tickets to win a shiny red '65 Mustang convertible.
The Abbotsford Lions Club and the car show society will make the car raffle draw at the conclusion of the day. All proceeds to will go to Matthew's House, a respite facility that will be part of the campus of hospice care in Abbotsford.
Entertainers include Mission artists Kenny Hess along with Jim Abbott. Hess has shared concert stages with Garth Brooks, Vince Gill, Merle Haggard, Tanya Tucker and Brooks & Dunn, and recently has been taking the reins at bringing in the talent for the Rockin' River Music Festival in Mission.
