Family fundraiser Dec. 28 at 6: 30 p.m. at 14th Ave. Sports Pub, 32516 14th Ave., Mission is a fundraiser burger & beer pub night to support Bill and Sheanna Haner, for expenses in Vancouver while their soon-to-be born son receives care at BC Children's Hospital. Hominum meets Dec. 28, are you gay, bi-sexual or just not sure? Need a safe place to talk? Hominum Fraser Valley is an informal discussion and support group to help gay, bi-sexual and questioning men with the challenges of being married, separated or single. Learn English Jan. 11, and every Friday until March, weekly English Conversation Circle for visitors to Canada is at 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the new Community Hub at Eugene Reimer Middle School, 3433 Firhill Dr., Abbotsford. A chance for visitors to Canada to practise their conversational English in small groups with volunteers and other English-learners. Coffee, tea and snacks provided. Better breathers meet Jan. 17, the Mission Sumas Abbotsford Better Breathers Club meets from 10 a.m. to noon and the third Thursday of each month at the Cascade Community Church, 35190 DeLair Rd., Abbotsford. Share information, education and support with others living with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and/or asthma.

Women with cancer Jan. 17, Women with Cancer support group meets every third Thursday of the month at Garden Park Tower, 2825 Clearbrook Rd., Abbotsford (room 217) at 7 p.m. This is an informal meeting and we welcome those who are going through or have been through cancer. Robbie Burns night Jan. 19, very entertaining celebration and dinner/ dance for famous Scottish poet Robbie Burns. Musical entertainment by Piper Down, at the Abbotsford Social Activity Association.
