The MARS candy bar people are stepping up to help local ice rinks across Canada with their Play Your Part campaign, and all you have to do is buy a chocolate bar. One of the five ice rinks that will benefit from this fundraising campaign is the Mission Leisure Centre, which is in need of a new score clock.

The facility will play host to the 2014 B.C. Winter Games and the hope is to be able to replace the arena's score clock, which is more than 15 years old and has recently become quite unreliable.

To activate a $5 contribution towards these participating rinks, folks just need to purchase a specially marked MARS chocolate bar and enter the PIN code found inside the wrapper at www.marsbar.ca/.

Each contribution will be divided evenly between the five chosen ice rinks, so the Mission Leisure Centre will receive $1 from every MARS bar code scanned to a maximum of $20,000.

The contest runs through Dec. 31, 2012.
