Labour, Citizens' Services and Open Government Minister Stephanie Cadieux took the upcoming Labour Day as an opportunity to express her feelings on the importance of our annual holiday.
"As we enter autumn, it is important to remember that Labour Day is not just another statutory holiday - it is also a day for us to take the time to recognize the people who make this province a better place to live, work and play," she said.
Cadieux also reminded us that earlier this year, the provincial government increased the provincial minimum wage to $10.25/hour by May 1, 2012.
"This Labour Day, please take a moment to reflect on the accomplishments of British Columbian workers from yesterday and today. Their work has made our province what it is today."
