Abbotsford police are investigating after four masked suspects, one armed with a gun and another with a blunt instrument, tried to bust into a home on Flagman Place at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday.

A male resident in his 60s confronted the men at the front door and after a short struggle, the invaders fled in a white domestic mid-size car.

The victim was not hurt in the scuffle.

APD Sgt. Casey Vinet said it's not clear what the motive was, and added the suspects may have targeted the wrong home.

"It was a very terrifying ordeal for the victims, and we're doing everything we can to identify and hold those responsible accountable," said Vinet.

Anyone with information about the incident should contact the Abbotsford Police Department at 604-859-5225 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
