Seven-year-old Evan Raap of Chilliwack was hailed last week as a hero by police after phoning 9-1-1 to save his grandfather's life. In honour, Evan was invited to drop the puck with Heat president Walter Ryan at the start of the game against the Toronto Marlies on Friday at the AESC.

Hockey fans were the big winners last weekend when two nearly sold-out crowds packed the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre - with the Heat displacing the Chicago Wolves from the ranks of the unbeaten with a 4-1 win Saturday night.
The Heat remain undefeated in regulation play after a 3-2 shootout loss to the Vancouver Canucks farm team on Friday.
The 2012/13 season for the Heat is shaping up to be an exciting one, especially with the current NHL lockout.
Fans are as much a part of the game hockey as the players and this season the Abbotsford Times is going to regularly post fan photos from Heat games to a fan photo gallery.
