A 16-month-old girl was lucky to escape with minor injuries after falling out of a second-storey window on Tuesday night.
Emergency responders were called out to the 31200 block of Upper Maclure Road at 6:50 p.m. after the toddler fell out a window, dropping more than eight feet to the driveway below, said Const. Ian MacDonald in a press release.
Fortunately the girl suffered minor injuries in the fall and was sent to hospital for cuts and bruises, said MacDonald.
The child had reportedly been playing on the coffee table while her mother was doing laundry downstairs.
After repeated pushes against the screen at the window, it gave way and the girl tumbled outside.
The APD is reminding people to take extra care with children near open and screened windows, especially now that warm, summer weather is at hand.
