A Bellingham man has been charged with six sex offences involving a 13-year-old child in Abbotsford.
Todd Ronald Hildebrand, 40, has been charged with two counts each of sexual assault, sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching in connection to an alleged incident ten years ago, said Const. Ian MacDonald.
Abbotsford Police announced the charges against Hildebrand given the possibility there might be other victims, said MacDonald.
"Given the length of time since the reported offence, we can't rule out the possibility there are other victims on both sides of the border," he said.
The victim came forward at the end of August and Hildebrand was arrested on Sept. 17.
Hildebrand has permanent resident status in the U.S. but is a Canadian citizen.
He is six feet three inches tall, weighs 180 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes.
Hildebrand is prohibited from attending any public park, school ground, daycare centre, swimming pool, playground, skating rink, community centre or recreation centre where persons under the age of 16 can reasonably be expected to be present.
He has been released on a promise to appear at a later court date in Abbosford.
Anyone with information about Hildebrand or who observes him in breach of his court ordered conditions should contact the Abbotsford Police Department at 604-859-5225.
