The Coastal Fire Centre lifted its ban on campfires, fireworks and tiki torches in all B.C. parks as well as Crown and private lands on Sept. 1.
The ban lift does not apply within municipal boundaries, or to areas with open fire bylaws serviced by a fire department.
The public should check local regulations before lighting a fire.
Open fires remain prohibited, including burning barrels. People face fines up to $1 million for wildfires resulting from reckless care of fires.
