Women who serve as the primary wage earners for their families and seeking financial help to go back to school can now apply for the Women's Opportunity Awards, a Soroptimist International of Abbotsford-Mission's major service project.

Applications are available at the financial assistance office at University of the Fraser Valley, or by contacting Linda Gertsen at siabbotsford. mission@soroptimist.net. Completed applications must be returned to Soroptimist International of Abbotsford-Mission by December 15.

The award can be used for tuition, books, childcare, carfare or any other education-related expense.

The Abbotsford-Mission club will provide a $2,500 cash grant to its award recipient, who will then advance to the Soroptimist Western Canada Region level, where one recipient will receive $5,000.
