A collision between a semi and camper have caused a traffic slow down in downtown Maple Ridge late this morning.

The crash occurred at about 11:30 a.m. on Friday, at the intersection of Lougheed Highway, where it meets with the Haney Bypass and 222nd Street.

Fire crews and police were on scene, and able to qucikly clear the vehicles from one of the community’s busiest intersections.

But having them relocated just west on Lougheed, the large units are still causing one lane of the highway to be blocked and consequently slowing traffic through the core.

Damage was minimal, and no one appears to be hurt in the crash.
