Mission RCMP arrested known prolific offender Richard Abram Born after finding what the police believe to be numerous stolen items in the man’s residence.
The RCMP Community Response Unit arrested Born, 45, on Feb. 27 while executing an arrest warrant issued for him that related to property and traffic offences. The officers found what they believed were stolen items inside his residence and obtained a search warrant for further investigation.
Police seized several items that were stolen during recent break and enters in Mission, including power tools, two-way radios and a very expensive mountain bike, said Const. Amanda Harnett.
The owners of the goods have been notified, she said.
Born is in custody and is charged with two counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000.
Born has a lengthy criminal history of more than 30 convictions dating back to 1991. The majority of these convictions are for property related offences.
Born has been identified by the Abbotsford Police Department as a prolific offender and has been designated to their Prolific Offender Program.
The Mission RCMP would like to remind the public of the importance of documenting serial numbers on expensive items, and to report all occurrences of property crime to the RCMP.
