Homicide investigators are investigating a possible murder after a woman's body was found in a Mission mobile home park on Thursday afternoon.
Police surrounded the scene with yellow tape and cordoned off the complex in the 34000 block of the Lougheed Highway just east of Mission on Friday.
"This is in the very early stages of investigation, but it appears the female has met with foul play and the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has taken conduct," said IHIT spokeswoman Sgt. Jennifer Pound in a press release.
The RCMP went to the Mission Mobile Home Park at 4: 15 p.m. Thursday in response to a call about a dead woman inside a residence.
RCMP officers were interviewing nearby residents and investigators were on the scene most of Friday to obtain evidence.
The integrated forensic identification section and the B.C. Coroners Service are assisting.
The identity of the victim has not been confirmed, said Pound.
Police did not reveal the victim's age or say if she resided in the home.
Investigators have no suspects yet.
