The people have spoken . . . or at least, slightly more than half of them have. And therein lies the real tragedy of Tuesday's election results - that, and the apparent lack of understanding of what it has all been about.
Today voters will elect new MLAs, or members of the legislative assembly. Many will think we're electing representatives in Victoria. Those people are adorable.
Today is the day. After months of speculation, weeks of political wrangling, endless campaign ads and numerous debates and public appearances by the candidates, it all comes down to this.
