Editor, the Times:
This letter is in response to Omar Khan's letter, 'Not so sure about 'no sex in heaven' letter' published Jan. 19.
"Jesus. Jew. Mohammed. It's true - all sons of Abraham." These words, coined by Bono of U2 are entirely accurate. They are all descendants of Abraham. So which religion is true? Can we all "coexist," as Mr. Khan puts it?
People often follow the religion of their parents or of their culture, whether Muslim, Buddhist, or Catholic.
But the truth is, when we stand before God on judgement day, each person must give an account for himself whether he has believed in the truth. But among so many religions, what is truth?
Jesus, who both Christians and Muslims believe in, said this, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
Mr. Kahm states that "the Christian understanding of Jesus does not diminish mine as a Muslim."
The Christian holds that Christ is the only way for salvation; apparently Mr. Khan must hold the same belief.
If he were to do an honest study of what Jesus did claim about himself I'm sure he would come to some very different conclusions.
One that gives eternal hope and life.
