BC Angels pulled off a 31-27 win over the Toronto Triumph thanks to their fleet-footed running back Stephanie Manou in LFL action Saturday night.
An enthusiastic crowd at the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre cheered on their Angels led by quarterback Mary Anne Hanson and RB Manou, as they battled back from an early 6-0 deficit. The Angels drove down the field time and again, finishing the half up 19-14
with Manou posting 65 yards on the ground on nine carries with an effective 6.8 yards per carry.
In the third quarter B.C. dominated with a pair of touchdown drives that included a 16-yard run by Aleesa Garcia and a 21-yard run by Manou, to give the Angels a commanding 31 - 14 lead.
Toronto came back in the fourth quarter but it was too little too late. BC now sits at 2-1, with Toronto 0-3.
