The University of the Fraser Valley men's basketball team dropped three exhibition preseason games south of the border. The Cascades played three of the top NJCAA (National Junior Collegiate Athletic Association) teams in the annual Cactus Jam Tournament, hosted by Phoenix College Bears.
The Cascades were using the trip as a six-day conditioning camp to prepare for the second half of the very competitive Canada West regular season that begins Jan. 11 with the Saskatchewan Huskies coming to the Envision Athletic Centre.
UFV closes the exhibition side of the schedule with a 5-7 record. The Cascades are currently 7-3 in regular season action, good for second place in Canada West's Pacific Division. UFV is ranked sixth in the CIS Top 10 poll.
