Six local high school football players will be part of the U18 36-player Team BC roster that will represent British Columbia at the FBU International Games as part of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl Week in San Antonio, Texas Dec. 30 to Jan. 6.
Local athletes include defensive backs Gurtaj Bhangu, Abby Senior; Taylor Hinton, W.J. Mouat; Kevin Wiens, Mission Secondary; defensive linemen Kent Hicks, Robert Bateman Secondary; Sheridan Lawley, W.J. Mouat; and running back Maleek Irons, W.J.M.
Team BC's roster is comprised of seven defensive backs, six defensive linemen, six offensive linemen, six receivers, five linebackers, four running backs and two quarterbacks.
Team BC will open their FBU International Games schedule on Jan. 3 facing Team Europe at Heroes Stadium. Their second-and-final game will be against Team USA on Saturday, Jan. 5, at the Alamodome.
Team BC is led by head coach and offensive line coach Tom Kudaba (Terry Fox Ravens).
