After a 2011 season that featured two league championships, Mission Minor Lacrosse is gearing up for a successful 2012 season.
Registration for the season will take place at the Mission Leisure Centre on Jan. 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Feb. 13, from 6-8 p.m. The new season will begin in mid-April.
"We've frozen our registration rates because we want to attract as many kids as possible," said MMLC President Bill Muirhead.
"This is a great game and we have a strong organization, so our aim is to make it as fun and accessible as possible for our youth."
In order to keep rates low and encourage more young people to try out Canada's national summer sport, Mission Minor Lacrosse has set a fee of $170 for all new players, no matter what the new player's age.
For anyone concerned about the registration expense, the MMLC can help low-income families access KidSport funding and tell parents where to find inexpensive gear.
Kids born anytime between 1996-2007 are eligible to play. Both boys and girls are welcome to play.
