The Abbotsford Panthers posted a 2116 victory over Vernon on Wednesday at Mouat Field to propel them into the Subway Bowl Double-A junior varsity final.

Grayson Marquardt opened the scoring with a 64-yard run. Vernon responded with a score and Abby trailed 8-6 at halftime.

The Panthers put a pair of third-quarter touchdown drives together with Marquardt adding a one-yard plunge and Phillip Cromwell also finding the end-zone. Vernon scored to close the gap but it wasn't enough.

Mike Sabourin made a game-saving tackle while Marcus Dias made a tough catch to regain possession late in the game. Pranav Arya and Alex Pongracz had great defensive games for Abby.

The Panthers will go for the title at 10 a.m. Saturday at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver.
