The Eugene Reimer Ravens beat the Abby Middle School Huskies 16-6 in the Grade 8 Double-A semifinal Wednesday at Mouat Field.

The Ravens opened the scoring with a seven-yard Dylan Manocha touchdown run. Bobby Narang ran in a crucial three-yard two-point conversion.

The Ravens defence held strong in the second half, keeping the talented Abby quarterback John Madigan in check.

The Ravens scored on the last play of the half when Manocha ran in on a seven-yard reverse. The Ravens held on for most of the third quarter until Abby's Samuel Uko scampered for an impressive 60-yard TD.

The Ravens then had a timely 43-yard run by Manocha. Husky's Tanner Marquardt, Ethan Lowney and the defence held strong as they forced the Ravens to fumble on the one-yard line.

The Ravens defence then answered with a safety after an Abby fumble in the endzone making the score 16-6.

Manocha had 178 yards on 27 carries for two TDs, Narang ran for 49 yards on 10 carries. Josh Sahota had 10 tackles and a sack on defence for the Ravens.

The Ravens now advance to the Double-A final against Stafford on Thursday at Burnaby Lakes Sports Complex at 4 p.m.
