James Lee and Hannah Weinkauf of the Abbotsford Olympians swim club medaled at the Richmond Swim meet Nov. 30.
Weinkauf put in a solid swim in the 200 IM, breaking the club record and winning bronze in the 50 freestyle.
Tavleen Grewal continued her progress, breaking the 10 & under girls 200 freestyle club record. Alina Blakely and Katie Charest made their first finals appearance in the 1112 girls 50 breaststroke, placing seventh and sixth respectively. Charest broke the 11-12 girls 50 breaststroke club record.
Lee smashed the 13-14 boys club record in the 400 IM by five seconds. He also broke the club record in the 100m freestyle
In relays, the 12 & under girls 200m medley was led out by Tobyn Smith with a 50m backstroke record-breaking time of 39.81; together with her teammates Blakey, Grewal and Charest, they finished sixth.
The 14 and under girls team of Hannah Weinkauf, Peyton Smith, McKenna Postles and Jayme Reitsma placed eighth.
At the Vancouver Pacific Meet at UBC Dec. 1, Jack Weinkauf, Maddie Charest and Daisy Davidson all swam personal best times. Weinkauf won the sixth place boys aggregate award, while Charest won the ninth place girls aggregate award.
Back at the three-day Richmond meet on Dec. 2, Hannah Weinkauf, Tavleen Grewal and Alina Blakley all set club records in the 400m freestyle.
James Lee was quick off the blocks in the 13-14 boys 50 fly and broke the club record in a time of 31.39.
