UFV signs local hoops stars

Mission's Luke Morris, MVP of the Double-A provincial champion Mission Roadrunners, has signed with the UFV men's basketball team.

Morris, a six-foot, five-inch forward, averaged 22 points per game in his senior year, pulled down 10 rebounds per game and was named the Double-A Most Valuable Player at provincials.

"Luke has the ability to stuff the stat sheet and do a little bit of everything on the court. He handles the ball well, rebounds, shoots, pass-es and also can go inside and score near the basket," said UFV head coach Barnaby Craddock.

"Luke has been in many big games throughout his high school career, and by leading his team to the provincial title he showed he has the winning mentality to contribute in big games at the CIS level."

Morris joins Max Neuman (six-foot, three-inch guard from Maple Ridge Secondary) and Rav Dhaliwal (sixfoot, eight-inch post from Tamanawis) as recruits committing to UFV in the past several weeks.
