An alleged Abbotsford gang associate who is the subject of a police public safety warning is in trouble again.

Chadwick "Chad" Weber, 35, is charged with robbery, extortion and three counts of uttering threats in connection to an incident on Feb. 7, said Const. Ian MacDonald.

Police officers were dispatched after getting a 911 call at 8:15 p.m. from an apartment in the 33900 block of Old Yale Road alleging Weber and another man were causing injury to people at the residence, said MacDonald.

Three men in their 20s were allegedly threatened, he said.

"It appears to be some sort of strong-arming scenario. There's obviously some history between the parties," said MacDonald.

It was basically suggested they needed to do certain things or bodily harm or injury would result."

Weber also allegedly demanded keys to someone's vehicle, said MacDonald.

Curtis Daniel Foerderer, 20, who doesn't have a criminal record, is also charged in the incident.

Weber's most recent charges follow hard on the heels of a recent assault conviction after a 28-year-old man was beaten, robbed, threatened, and forced from his vehicle in July 2012.

Weber, originally charged with robbery and forcible confinement, pleaded guilty on Jan. 23 and was sentenced to one day in prison in addition to time served before sentencing.

His co-accused, 35-year-old Lewis Hyungil Kim, also pleaded guilty to assault and was fined $1,000.

In April 2012, Weber was the subject of an APD public warning, as police believe he is a possible target for gang violence.

In the continuing climate of inter-gang violence, that warning still stands, said MacDonald.

"This is another example of why we focused attention on Chad Weber in the past and had concerns, to a lesser degree for his safety, but more so for the safety of people who come in contact with him," he said.

Weber was also jailed for two months in July 2011 for possession for the purpose of trafficking after being busted in an APD raid that netted cocaine, cash and two bulletproof vests.

At the time, police described Weber, who has allegedly had affiliations with a number of gangs, as one of the individuals "jockeying" to control the Abbotsford drug trade.
