Classical guitarist Peter Zaenker will be the guest soloist at the Fraser Valley Symphony's second concert of the season, Sunday, Feb. 3 at the Matsqui Centennial Auditorium.

Exotic Oases will take patrons on a musical journey filled with the flair of Spanish and Middle Eastern melodies.

Zaenker is a graduate of UBC and the Cologne Conservatory. He lived in Germany for a decade, and performed there, as well as in France, and participated in more than 20 master classes with the 'who's who' of the guitar world.

He will perform Concierto de Aranjuez by Rodrigo with the F.V. Symphony on a 2004 Bernard Kresse Spruce guitar, made in Cologne, Germany.

Other pieces on the program include Persian March by Johann Strauss, Capriccio Espagnol and Scheherazade by Rimsky-Korsakov.

The concert starts at 3 p.m. Tickets are available in advance from King's Music, Tourism Abbotsford Visitor Centre, Murdoch's Books (Mission), Act 1 Music (Langley) or at the door as available.

Ticket prices are $16/adult, $13/students/seniors and $6/children.
