Mission Optimist Club starts July 1 at Fraser River Heritage Park with a pancake breakfast at 8: 30 - 11: 30 a.m., followed by flag raising and cake from 11: 30 a.m. - 12: 30 p.m.

Entertainment includes Piper McKenzie comedy daredevil act, Matsqui Flyball dog show, and the high-calibre District of Mission Loggers Show, from 11 a.m. through the afternoon. Activities continue until 5 p.m.

There will be an ongoing stream of entertainment on the Tim Hortons stage until 10 p.m., including banghra, belly dancers, the Mission's Got Talent contest starting at 5 p.m., and Mission Pipe Band 50th anniversary special.
